New-to-me blogs

I found a couple of new blogs worth reading. Well, actually, they found me. Definitely worth reading.

I noticed them when I actually took the time to look at my Technorati rankings, which is basically a list of other blogs linking to mine. I’m up to a whopping 8! That took two hands. Pretty soon I’ll have to take off my shoes to keep count.

Vacuum

On Sunday, I placed my vacuum cleaner in the middle of the floor. I had a slight hope that it might inspire me to actually use it.

I have successfully ignored the cleaner for the last three and a half days. It has become like the monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey. The only difference is that, instead of signifying the advent of new civilization, the black Hoover stands in tribute to the advent of new procrastination.

And there are also far fewer apes and malfunctioning computers in my living room.

Holiday Candy

The holiday aisle at my local grocery store has been covered with every type of Halloween candy. Simply amazing. Two months to go and the candy stockpiling has already begun. Every year the stores seem to get the product out in the aisles earlier and earlier.

Now that I have made that small complaint, I must say, “I love candy corn!”

And yes, it is necessary to bite the white part off first, then the orange, and then and only then can the yellow be consumed. This is the proper way to eat candy corn.
